Twin burner system for a CHP at Newport, UK.

At a plant in Newport , UK, a dual burner conventional boiler is reconfigured to be operated with the exhaust gas from a gas turbine. In order to reach the full capacity of the boiler in both turbine exhaust gas mode and fresh air firing mode R&V supplies a new burner system with two burners.

Technical description
The two standard R&V natural gas burners can be operated individually in both TEG mode and fresh air mode. The system is especially designed to achieve low emissions over the full load range of the burners. Due to the limited available space, the burners are installed in a duct with side entry of the turbine exhaust gas, showing the custom design capabilities of R&V Engineering.
