Supplementary firing system for Petrobras refinery, Brazil

As part of the modernization of the REPLAN refinery at Paulinia, Petrobras installs a new HRSG with R&V supplementary firing burners to provide the required steam and power at the highest efficiency. The new HRSG joins the existing HRSG built in 1997 which was also equipped with R&V gas burners. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in the first half of 2011.

Technical description
The new burner system will be operated with refinery gas and natural gas in both turbine exhaust gas mode and fresh air mode. The system is designed to meet the latest required emission levels. The fuel system providing the fuel supply to the burners and the burner management system logic have also been designed by R&V Engineering.
